“ I obviously don't write many reviews, I let my husband do that. But this place has been MY little gem since long before we met. Let me paint you a love story. I've loved this place for years. Summer days, drinking rosé and eating happy hour oysters on their patio, falls eating their delicious branzino and lemon potatoes in the calm of their quaint dining room, winters snuggled into a plush booth eating a house-made dessert with espresso. The service is always warm and inviting. I hadn't been in for years and they still remembered my name and my usual order. I can't recommend this experience enough. All food and drinks are very reasonably priced too! This place will always have a special place in my heart. I've taken friends, families, dates (don't tell my husband) here and they are never disappointed. Go here. Have fun. Try everything! :) ”
“ I have been visiting this taverna for years, and have done so throughout all of their revisions. They have had some tough times, as we all did during the pandemic, and now that food prices are not getting any cheaper. True, the menu has changed, and this is important for such a business to survive. Having said this, I am always comfortable here and treated well by the owner and staff. The menu is small, but well prepared. I have ordered a variety of dishes and have always been satisfied with the food and service. Today, 2/14/25, I have had the best grilled salmon that I have had in a long time. The ambience is welcoming. On occasion during the day I have seen diners request that the music be lowered, and the staff graciously complied. I would strongly recommend for lunch, after work drink or dinner. Although the prices have increased, this the current national trend and the price we pay for enjoying good food. ”
“ Came here for valentines and we were pleasantly surprised! We had a pre-fix menu for the night and everything was pretty good. What was really interesting and fun was the live music: trumpet and singer. The trumpet guy was very funny and entertaining. Made for a great night. Highly recommend. ”
“ I needed a Branzino night and Blue Sea Taverna met my expectations. This is one of the quiet Greek restaurants in the heart of Astoria that's with cozy and soothing decor. After a long week, I trusted all the reviews of every diner that came here. Branzino and lemon potatoes were the highlights and will describe in detail how they did this dish justice. I'm one of the few that appreciates the fish skin and the crisp coating. This was charred nicely and the fish meat was easy to rip off the bones whether you slip the skeleton off or when slurping off each part from the little bony shards. Also not most places are generous with the meat portions of their fish but the Branzinos here were packed full of fish meat and this was nicely seasoned. Not too dry and bland is what a good fish should taste like. Had a glass of Greek red wine to complement the dish and it added nicely. The relaxing meal I needed to have on a Friday evening to start the weekend indeed. ”
